Fourteen guest pavilions stepping down a monsoon valley, linked by shaded stone paths.
The brief asked for a building that feels calm, generous and rooted in its place. We began on site — tracing the path of the sun, the prevailing breeze and the views worth framing — and let those observations shape the plan.
Approach
Rooms are arranged to borrow light from more than one side, with deep overhangs and screens that temper the afternoon heat. A restrained palette of stone, lime plaster and timber gives the spaces a quiet warmth that will soften with age.
- Passive cooling through cross-ventilation and shading
- Locally sourced, low-maintenance materials
- Landscape and architecture designed as one
Outcome
The result is a place that feels effortless to inhabit: bright without glare, open without losing privacy, and comfortable through every season.
